FAQs

WHAT GEAR DO YOU USE?

I shoot with a professional mirrorless camera Sony a9. This camera is dead silent when taking pictures, which is very important for candid moments of your wedding (like a ceremony in a church or reading your vows).

Also, I always have a backup camera and a set of professional prime and zoom lenses (16-35mm f/4, 35mm f/1.4, 50mm f/1.4, 85mm f/1.4, 35mm f/2.8 and even a 50mm f/0.95!).

I also use a 135 film camera (usually with top professional film like Fujifilm 400H or Kodak Portra 400) and process all the rolls at one of the best fine art wedding film laboratories in the world.

After that, I edit all digital files to look like film photos! Pretty smart, isn't it?

WHAT ARE YOU INTO?

I really enjoy traveling, watching indie movies and listening to great music. Also, I'm a mens fashion activist. Kidding. But don't expect me to wear jeans or shorts on your wedding day!

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE MOVIES?

Moonrise Kingdom, Her, Lobster, Swiss Army Man. Obviously, all indie movies about love and relationship.

ARE YOU MARRIED?

I am married, and we have a really cute and not-so-smart furry son, Mars. He's a 90 pound boxer who loves destroying everything around him. Still, he manages to be the most loved creature in our home.

WHERE IS YOUR ACCENT FROM? IT'S LIKE I'M GONNA HEAR "I NEED YOUR CLOTHES, YOUR BOOTS AND YOUR MOTORCYCLE"

Thanks to my parents I was born in former Soviet Union. Yep, Stalin, matryoshka, vodka and brown bears walking in the streets! :D

ARE YOU A DIRECTOR OR AN OBSERVER WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR WORK AS A PHOTOGRAPHER?

I would say I'm an observer. I don't like to attract a lot of attention to myself and love to capture some candid moments of your wedding day. Of course, I can always help you with posing tips when you need them.

IF YOU COULD GIVE ONLY ONE PIECE OF ADVICE, WHAT IT WOULD BE?

Hire a wedding planner! You can't even imagine how a good planner helps with stress and with getting beautiful pictures. Yes, a good planning is a vital part of nice photographs.
